Cao Ya

Cao Ya, a professor of Xiangya School of Medicine, was awarded the Distinguished Young Scholar of China in 1995. She was appointed as Vice Director of Cancer Research Institute (1997), Vice Dean of Xiangya School of Medicine CSU(2001), Director of Molecular Imaging Centre of Xiangya(2009), and Director of Carcinogenesis and Invasion Key Laboratory of Ministry of Education (2011), Vice Dean of Research Center for Technologies for Nucleic Acid-Based Diagnostics and Therapeutics HunanProvince(2014), Vice Dean of National Joint Engineering Research Center for Genetic Diagnostics of Infectious Diseases and Cancer(2017).

Prof. Cao is an expert Reviewer of The Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council and National Natural Science Foundation of China. She has served as Chairman of Committee of Oncology of Chinese Association of Pathophysiology. Prof. Cao is also the Associate Editor for Molecular Carcinogenesis,PlosOne,Cancer Prevention Res,Journal of Molecular Medicine,Nature Precision Oncology,Xiangya Medicine. Prof. Cao has more than 20 years of experience in virus-mediated tumorigenesis. She is an active and very productive scientist in cancer research area. She was invited to publish a viewpoint article on Nature Reviews Cancer and Nature Precision Oncology.

Also, Prof Cao had her special experience as a vice mayor of Changsha City(2003-2007), and Chairman of Hunan Overseas Chinese Association (2008-2013). She is 9th National People's Congress woman, a committee member of 10th CPPCC(2003-2007), a standing committee member of 11th CPPCC (2008-2012), a member of 10th Standing Committee Member of National Women’sFederation)(2009-2013);a Standing Committee Member of the 8th Overseas Chinese Association of China (2008-2013).

Now Prof. Cao Ya is Counselor of Hunan ProvincialGovernment, Chairman of the Special Committee of Hunan Provincial Federation of Overseas Chinese, Vice Chairman of Changsha Overseas Students Association;Chair of the Third C.J Huang Medical Fellowship Nomination Committee of Xiangya.
