Yang Chunhua

Yang Chunhua is a Professor and Deputy Dean of the School of Information Science and Engineering, Central South University, Changsha,China. She received the B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from Central South University, in 1985, 1988 and 2002, respectively. From 1999 to2001, she was a visiting professor at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium. From 2009 to 2010, she was a senior visiting scholar with the University of Western Ontario, Canada.

Prof. Yang’ research interests include process control and automation engineering, especially focuses on upgrading of automation for nonferrous metals industry. She is the author and coauthor of more than 200 publications in her research field, including books, journals and refereed conferences. For her outstanding contributions in her research field, she was awarded the Second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress for 4 times and received China National Funds for Distinguished Young Scientists. She was also selected as the “TenOutstandingWomen” in Hunan Province, and the national candidate for New Century Talents Project inChina. She is currently the Vice Chair of the IFAC (International Federation of Automatic Control) Technical Committee on Mining, Mineral and Metal Processing.
