Forough Ghahramani

Forough is Associate Director of Rutgers Discovery Informatics Institute (RDI2) Associate Director. In this role, she provides leadership for the strategy, operation, strategic partnerships, and educational programs focused on big data and large scale computing at RDI2.

As a transformative leader in higher education, technologist, and entrepreneur, Forough's diversified career experience includes higher education management, teaching, and curriculum development, management consulting, project management, software engineering, bioinformatics, and organization-wide information technology planning.

Forough has a doctorate in Higher Education Management from University of Pennsylvania, an MBA in Marketing from DePaul University, MS in Computer Science from Villanova University, and BS in Mathematics with a minor in Biology from Pennsylvania State University. Her research interests include “bioinformatics, the challenges and opportunities associated with the convergence of biotechnology and information technology”, “Fostering greater diversity in the innovation life cycle and promoting pathways for women innovators in science, engineering and technology fields”.

Combining her dedication to training of young women leaders in STEM fields with her passion for entrepreneurship, Forough has concentrated her volunteer efforts on developing programs to attract, retain, mentor, and advance women in STEM and advocating for support from leading policy makers for women in business and STEM education initiatives.
